Some F.A.Q's...

1. Do I need to join your guild if I am already a member of the national MQG?
A. YEP! You see, we local guilds have to pay dues to the national MQG in order to be a part of the network. We pay those dues with our membership monies. We also use membership monies to pay expenses like copying/printing patters, paying speakers/lecturers, buying door prizes or contest prizes... and so on.

2. What if I don't want to join, can I still attend meetings?
A. You can attend ONE meeting as a quest, but afterwards there will be a charge to attend meetings unless you join. (This is the same with all chapters of mqg - its an effort to urge people to join and remain a part of the fun!)

3. Who can join the LMQG?
A. ANYONE! If you have an interest in modern quilting and FUN - then we are the guild for you! Doesn't matter if you are an expert sewist or a beginner - you are welcome!

4. What are your meetings like?
A. We meet three times per month - we have a social meeting, a general meeting and a sew day. The social meeting is just that - social! Its a gathering of members and perspective members to hang out and get to know one another in a relaxed environment. Guilds are a fantastic way to make new friends! The general meeting is where we will announce any events that are coming up or ongoing, introduce the Block of the Month (BOM), demo something FUN, and take care of general guild business. The sew day is one of the highlights of the month! We are lucky enough to have the entire quilt shop to ourselves for a few hours! We will bring our finished projects for a grown-up version of "show and tell", we will have optional projects going on for anyone who would like to participate, we will also have a free-sew area for those who would just like to work on their own projects.

5. Do I need to bring my machine to the meetings?
A. It is recommended that you bring your machine to the general meeting and the sew day so that you will have the opportunity to sew-along and participate.

6. What kind of machine do I need to have in order to participate?
A. One that WORKS! It doesn't matter what kind of machine you have, bring it along and lets have fun!

7. I think I'm ready to join, how do I do that?
A. AWESOME! Just send an email to lakelandmqg@yahoo.com and I will send you the membership form - its just that simple! You then will bring your completed form to the next scheduled meeting and pick up your membership card! :)
