Are You Ready To Start A Fire?

Today, three of the LMQG officers visited the Providence Fire Station, the guild's new home for our Sew Day #2 (the last Sunday of each month). We are THRILLED with this new prospect! We will have an entire building to ourselves. It is a very large room, with large tables (like the ones we usually see in sewing classrooms) and lots of chairs. There are two restrooms and a FULL kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, sink etc). There are large locker-type cabinets for storage, so agauin, be thinking of things that we might want to LEAVE there. I have a cutting mat that I can donate to the cause, bit a few more would be great. Does anyone have an extra iron maybe? Debbie says that she has an ironing board that we could leave there too.

This building is empty more often than not and its run by men, so a good cleaning will do it worlds of good. It will benefit US more than anyone else, and I'm sure it would be appreciated by our new hosts (who aren't charging us anything for using their room every month). So, a few of us are going to meet at Fabric warehouse on Tuesday, Feb 17th at 10am and go over to the fire station and do some cleaning and planning. If anyone would like to join us, you would be much appreciated and welcome!

Several of us also had this thought.... the walls of the meeting room are very blank and empty.... wouldn't a pretty quilt be just the thing?! We could do a fireman themed quilt and print off their logo on fabric and put it in the center. If anyone would like to help me with this project, let me know - I think it'd be fun and probably mean a lot! :)

See ya at the meeting on Monday!
