October Sew Day

We had a wonderful sew day today! A special thank you to all members who came out to join us! Everyone brought some fantastic yummies - everyone left fat and happy!

Kathleen brought some beautiful quilts that she made for family members, to give as holiday presents.

And now for the moment everyone has been waiting for.... the announcement of the Halloween Block Challenge winner!!! Our awesome friends at Generation Q Magazine were kind enough to not only judge our contest, but they also sent enough magazine issues for ALL guild members! Aren't they just the BEST?!

I asked all of the entrants to pose for a picture with the block that they created...

We announced the runner up first... and it is Colleen and her AWESOME witch hat block! She won "The Quilts From The House Of Tula Pink" book!

And the winner is..... Kathleen!!!! Her improv spider block was a wonderful example of modern technique! I bet she enjoys all of the FANTASTIC goodies that she won!

To finish off our sew day, we worked on the design for our QuiltCon Charity Quilt. We think we have nailed it down to this grid pattern on a grey background with some cool hexes floating in the air above.
